Yes, as with all wood flooring you will need to leave an expansion gap. This applies whenever the floor meets another fixed surface (wall, doorways, other flooring such as tiles/marble, pipes, etc). When installing engineered floors over large areas you should also have an expansion gap of 10-15 mm every 12 metres for the width, as the floor moves 20-40 times more widthwise than lengthwise. This can be covered with expansion profiles. If you are fully gluing an engineered floor to the subfloor, then you only need to allow for approximately 3-5 mm expansion gap.
From a technical point of view, any direction is possible and you can install the planks lengthwise or widthwise. You can even install the floor diagonally, however keeping in mind that the wastage percentage would increase significantly. The choice is a personal as well as an aesthetic one. You will obtain the most attractive effect if you lay the floor in the same direction as the main light source and in the same line as the most frequently used door entrance. However, if you have several doors and windows in the room you can choose the direction that facilitates the actual laying.

Yes. Firstly we will conduct a site survey where we ensure the marble, tile or concrete surface is leveled appropriately. Our floors are installed floating on top of the existing flooring. The boards are locked together with Kährs patented Woodloc® system. The Woodloc® does not just mean that the floor can be installed quickly and efficiently, but it also guarantees that the floor stays flat and that gaps will never appear between the planks. The fact is that the Woodloc® joint retains its strength throughout the floor’s entire lifetime.
Yes, the underlay will provide the floor with a humidity barrier from the subfloor, as well as act as a sound insulator.
We recommend to maintain a normal room temperature between 18°C and 24°C. The relative humidity of the air must kept at less than 60% before, during and after installation.
