KRUKMAKARGATAN 24

Sarah

This apartment in Stockholm, Sweden is super inspirational! We especially love the minimalist kitchen with black cabinets and stainless steel accents, and the cozy eating area by the window with a social “bar table” feeling and views over the street below.

In order to maximise the natural light of the space, the owners of this home have not applied any heavy drapes or curtains to the windows, and have softened the quite angular and sharp-lined space with lots of natural green plants and textures.

Because the home has a relatively open-plan kitchen towards the living room – with minimal walls diving the two spaces – it is perfect that they have laid the same natural oak wood flooring, similar to our Kährs Oak Jersey wood floor, throughout the two rooms to create a continuous flow. Kährs Oak Jersey is a 1-strip floor in selected oak. The bevelled edges help to create a floor whose look and feel recall bygone days.

A NEW RUSTIC

Sarah

Well hello inspiration! How amazing is this Scandinavian-inspired home in Melbourne, Australia?

A beautiful demonstration of the symbiosis of raw nature materials, achieving perfect harmony within a space. Blacks, grays, whites and natural wood make this a perfect example of what can only be described as a Scandi-contemporary take on rustic.

To get this look, keep your colours to a minimum and select Casa by Kährs Grande Collection for your base. Casa is a majestic floor with 2.8 metre long planks and a rustic, handscraped surface that contains knots and cracks.

SIMPLICITY

Sarah

This home has everything we love – white, smooth walls with soft oak wood flooring and a beautiful natural light that creates a stylish base with a large dose of both charm and interest. Overall a very clean and simple space with focus on the few, but beautiful furnishings (that copper Tom Dixon lamp + clear chairs + solid raw wood dining table combo is a definite winner in our eyes).

To get this look, opt for Oak Weimar from Kährs European Naturals Collection – a narrow 1-strip floor in selected Swedish oak. With bevelled edges, brushed surface and matt lacquered finish that gives maximum wood feeling.

A HOME WITH A TEAL TWIST

Sarah

Ash: a strong, hard wood species, even harder than Oak. This wood species is pale in a typical Scandinavian way with fine, brown streaks and few discreet knots. It has a relatively long grain and ambers over the years. Ash is used to make tools, wood flooring and furniture. Some of Kährs Ash floors have strong colour variations that really bring them to life.

Kährs Ash Skagen, seen in this beautiful home, combines the naturalness and liveliness of ash with the elegance and lightness of white matt lacquer. The white matt lacquer highlights the wood’s natural beauty, giving the whole floor a soft and pleasing finish.

On another note.. that teal blue staircase! Such an unexpected and fun detail, we love it!
