A PIED À TERRE AT THE PALM DUBAI
March 8, 2015
In this coastal style pied-à-terre, it is proven that you don’t have to sacrifice sophistication and glamour to live small. A beautifully designed, elegant apartment that looks perfectly polished in such tiny footprint can be a challenge, but not impossible.
This home is all about giving attention to every single detail: a neutral palette of beiges and greys with blue accents has been used throughout the space.
The oak wood introduced with Kährs Oak Olof, supplied and installed by Nordic Homeworx, is the dominant material in the space, to which stainless steel touches were added- an embrace of reflective, clear and metallic surfaces, a mix of light wood and walls with luxurious textures coupled with a big framed mirror used as a piece of artwork keeps the feeling light and airy and makes the entire space seem quite large.
With bespoke tailor made storage spaces and some beautiful, meticulously chosen furniture, this small space was successfully transformed into a beautiful cozy elegant pied-à-terre.
The big challenge was to create privacy in such a limited open space. ikonic by R&S‘s solution was to create a custom-made divider headboard beautifully layered with a matching wallpaper to divide the space in two separate area: a living/entertainment area, and a sleeping area. This not only creates extra space within the property but also create a “wow” effect when visitors discover a perfectly set bedroom behind the divider.
From the balanced floor plan and multiple sources of light to the large scale rug, the ikonic by R&S team proves that good interior design can make 568 sq. ft feel like million.
The space has been realised by Rim and Sywar, founders of www.ikonic-byrs.com (firstname.lastname@example.org, www.ikonic-byrs.com).

Here are a couple of before pictures – can you believe this is how the studio looked prior to the transformation?
