We all know renovations can be a bit daunting, messy and quite costly. Therefore, our goal is that our clients’ experience with Nordic Homeworx and investment in a Kährs wood floor will be a positive one.

Our boutique-style concept, combined with our Swedish ethos, means that we cater to our clients in a more personalised manner. We focus on our clients’ individuals needs, where our main priority is their satisfaction with their experience with both our service and with their Kährs wood floors – before, during and after the installation – including coordinating and cooperating with other works ongoing during the renovation process.

That is why we are starting a series of client feedback posts to highlight some of our wonderful clients and their beautifully transformed homes in Dubai. We hope their genuine words and beautiful homes will inspire you to transform yours as well!

The first in the series is Ritika. She selected the luxurious, nearly black Kährs Oak Java wood flooring for her Jumeirah Islands villa which works perfectly as a contrast to the stark white walls and mouldings. Ritika designed all the interiors herself- renovating the villa into a harmonious home for herself and her family.

This apartment in central Stockholm, Sweden by ESNY has dreamy interiors! We love the aged herringbone-patterned oak wood floor (like our rustic Kährs Oak CD herringbone wood floor) and the classic earthy-toned interiors with a feminine touch.

We absolutely love the look of this loft apartment. Creating a loft feeling means keeping the decor fairly minimalist, while using diverse raw materials for a textural and tactile variety. Create contrasts with a common denominator – preferably selecting materials with a slight vintage essence to them that converted old factory spaces often have to them.

The key, however, lies in the foundations- meaning the floor, the walls, the influx of natural light as well as the overall architecture and working around these to create an authentic loft feeling. Kährs Vedbo (pictured) has a natural oak colour with enhanced contrast and warmth; and golden tones from honey and ripe rye during harvest time.

We suggest combining the rustic Kährs Vedbo wood flooring with a White Brick wallpaper by Mr Perswall (D.Tales), a funky Molecular Pendant Lamp by House Doctor (The Bowery Company), and other neutral furniture and decor. Allow for pops of colour – in limited quantities – displayed in artwork, such as pop-artsy posters (Gallery One).

A great general tip for artwork is to invest in some nice frames with real glass. Light will beautifully reflect off the glass, increasing the sense of space and light while showcasing and enhancing the art displayed. You may also choose to leave your frames on the floor rather than hanging them on the walls- leaning them casually against a wall and stacked one in front of the other.

I recently read on Trendenser’s blog that a wood floor is like the shoes of a home, where – as in the world of fashion – your outfit isn’t complete without the right pair. That it doesn’t matter how nice you dress or decorate if you have the wrong pair of shoes – or wrong floor. I find the analogy to be really accurate, because without the right base, your home (our outfit for that matter!) will never really have an edited or composed look.

For example, this apartment in Stockholm, Sweden is a very simple home, with its beautiful crispy white walls, marble countertops, brass details and lots of natural light. But it is the dark wood floor that creates the warm base- a beautiful canvas that boosts the rest of the decor and interiors.

To get the look, we suggest our beautiful Kährs Oak Soil wood floor. This floor has deep brown nature oil patina that breathes history and elegance. Discover the floor here.
