This autumn is all about a modern take on vintage glam. We’ve been seeing a lot of vintage influences from the major fashion houses in the recent AW16 Fashion Week shows, influences ranging from the Elizabethan golden era, to the roaring 20’s, glam-luxe 70’s and all the way to the eclectic 90’s.
As for interiors this autumn, we’re seeing a lot of warm colours in rusty and muted tones making a comeback. The focus is on creating a lived-in and layered feeling, something that was very popular in the 70’s. To create a modern take on this look, we recommend selecting a tone of a colour tone and working with it. Work tone-in-tone with the colour to set a base. Complete the look with various objects, ceramics and diverse types of materials. For example, combine a rich velvet sofa with a natural wood floor; an aged leather armchair with suede and satin cushions; speckled ceramic vases with brass candle holders and dusty floral wallpapers.
Our Kährs Oak Smoke wood floor has a beautiful cognac colour that is perfect as a base for your vintage interiors, yet one that is still very versatile throughout the seasons. With its brushed, oiled and smoked surface, this floor will add a warm and cozy feeling to your space.
Key colours: Mustard yellow, rusty orange, muted grey/blue, silver, brass, amber and emerald green.
