Pantone have announced their colour of the year fo 2018: Ultra Violet. A complex colour with lots of attitude and a high-tech/futuristic feel.
It can be a little overwhelming to decorate with- so to create a light yet layered cosy feeling, we recommend combining a variety of violet shades with light creams, greys, whites and touches of green in diverse natural textures and materials.
Our latest Floor of the Month, Kährs Oak Pale, has the perfect white stain with a warm undertone, which will balance out the richness of the violets.
December is here and we are officially in a festive mood! This year, we’re feeling inspired by a very minimalistic Christmas reminiscent of a Nordic winter landscape, with a white base; greens and browns as accent hues; and a touch of metallic shimmer for an understated elegance.
Our Floor of the Month for December Kährs Oak Limestone has a whisper-white finish and a clean and even expression. Each board is carefully brushed to bring out the character of the grain and highlight the natural texture of the timber.
We are currently loving the combination of warm burnt yellows, caramel-orange and rich brown tones; juxtaposed with the coolness of light greys and crisp whites for an fresh autumn mood.
Our Floor of the Month for November Kährs Oak Siena FSC® is a classic 3-strip wood floor in natural FSC-certified oak, that ranges from brown butter highlights to caramel lowlights for a classic expression.
This apartment in Stockholm features a beautiful colour scheme of dark brown, greens and white with touches of brass details. This combination creates a timeless interior with a calm and soothing atmosphere.
To achieve this look, we suggest Kährs Oak Lava wood flooring – a 3-strip floor with a brushed, brown/black pigment and matt lacquer finish. Available in stock in Dubai.

Last week we starting off Tuesday by hosting the inspiring group of Build Dubai members for a delicious Scandinavian breakfast and presentation in our showroom!
Keeping in line with our heritage and culture, we served a Scandinavian breakfast created by Smørrebrød – including the famous open-faced sandwiches and fresh smoothies.
The breakfast also included three inspirational talks and lots of mingling and networking. Overall a really successful event, and we look forward to hosting more of them in the future!
We are feeling inspired by interiors with an earthy palette of golden straw balanced off with dramatic stone greys and airy whites. This combination of hues, especially when in contrasting textures, creates a depth that reflects an understated, minimalistic luxe that we love.
Our new Floor of the Month, Kährs Oak Vinga, has a beautiful pale grey hue with natural warm undertones – resulting in a temperate expression. Occasional saw marks accentuate the floor’s restored appearance. Each board is meticulously hand-scraped and carefully brushed to bring out the character of the grain and highlight the natural texture of the timber.
We’re loving deep emerald greens in combination with smokey brown wood and contrasting whites and brass. Interiors inspired by the iconic mid-century modern era and its nature-focused colour and material palette. Where the linear meets the organic – blurring out the lines between feminine and masculine. An interior that creates a sense of cosy comfort and timeless sophistication at the same time.
Our new Floor of the Month Kährs Oak Smoke has beautiful tobacco-brown hues enhanced by its richly smoked finish. Each board is carefully brushed to bring out the character of the grain and highlight the natural texture of the wood.
You know that saying “every time you buy from a small business an actual person does a happy dance”? Well, that’s us. We dance, we cheer, we high-five each other. We’re a small team with a boutique service and take great pride in our work here at Nordic Homeworx. Receiving positive feedback from our clients is a true testament to everything we strive for everyday. Thank you Nilou for your kind words!

Last week we got the chance to stay at a recently renovated apartment in Stockholm, Sweden, which had a generous influx of natural light through large windows, high ceilings and open spaces, beautiful wall colours by Jotun paints, elegant high skirting panels and our rustic Kährs Oak Sture wood flooring.
The apartment lies within a building that was built in 1883, and although it has recently been renovated, the owners have made sure pay homage to the charming old features while giving it a fresh and updated look.
Classic muted tones in greens, greys and browns have been used, while all ceilings, fixtures, frames and mouldings are kept white – enhancing that airy feeling that ties together the space. The use of contrasting materials (e.g. natural wood, stainless steel and marble) creates depth and a layered feeling. Inspiration deluxe!
