URBAN TROPICANA

Sarah

Living in Dubai, we’re fortunate to be in a part of the world that lies between beautiful tropical jungles and cultured urban cities. So why not reflect a combination of both styles in our homes?

We’re currently feeling inspired by tropical greens with a clean and minimalistic urban twist. We suggest updating the typical tropical deco by combining our pure white Kährs Ash Alabaster wood flooring with large green leafy plants, white linen and cotton furniture and small green marble accents; as well as an abundance of neutral tones, natural light and large open spaces to maintain that bright, airy and tropical holiday feeling.

A perfect combination creating that urban tropicana vibe.

COOL COOLER

Sarah

Are you spending time at the beach or picnicking in parks this summer? Do you usually keep your beverages cool in a cooler?

While most coolers are, let’s face it – U G LY – we came across this übercool, ultra-chic cooler by the DIY blog Almost Makes Perfect (you can guess which part of it we love the most – hint: it’s on the lid).

Want to design your own cooler? Learn how to here.

CALIFORNIA DREAMING

Sarah

Today’s rather hazy weather is making us daydream about the summer and beach.. or more specifically: California’s dreamy beaches. That heavenly combination of sun, sand and salt (and a refreshing post-beach açai bowl to top it off).

PS. Word on the street is that there’ll be waves this weekend, so be sure to catch some surf! Be sure to check it out, it’s really beautiful to watch all the surfers with Burj Al Arab as a backdrop at sunset. Et voilà – we have our very own version of California’s hip surf scene right here in Dubai.

SUMMER RED

Sarah

As we accelerate into “Summer 2013” mode, we are feeling inspired by the famous Scandinavian summer cottages typically seen by the sea coast. Combining red and white is not only extremely classic and elegant, but also timeless and cozy.

Combine red and white hues with a whitewashed rustic oak floor such as Oak Oyster for that authentic beachside/summer house feel.
